Tommy Lee-5-1024x1024Lee was born Thomas Lee Bass October 3, 1962 in Athens to David Lee Thomas Bass, an American U.S. Army sergeant and Vassiliki Papadimitriou as one of the contestants at the 1957 Miss Greece beauty pageant (Greek: Basilike Papademetriou). Athena is his younger sister is also a drummer. Lee was two years old when his father relocated his family to California. He also got his first drumsticks when he was four, and his first drum set when he turned 16. He left high school to pursue the field of music beginning with the L.A. club band Suite 19. He listened to Van Halen, Led Zeppelin and Cheap Trick while a teen. John Bonham and Tommy Aldridge were his primary drumming inspirations.
