Andrea Jeremiah

Andrea Maria Jeremiah works as an Indian playback singer, actress and musician. The majority of her work comes involved in Tamil or Malayalam-language films. Annayum Rasoolum was her Malayalam and Tamil debut. Her debut was in Tamil with Pachaikili Muthucharam. Andrea Jeremiah is an Anglo-Indian born in Arakkonam Tamil Nadu. Her father is a lawyer in the Madras High Court. Her mother is the older cousin of an assistant researcher in Leuven, Belgium. Jeremiah was born in the vicinity of Chennai, went to National Public School before graduating from Women's Christian College. Andrea started studying classical piano when she was eight. Andrea was a huge geek who wanted to become a psychiatrist. Young Stars was the Jackson Five-style group that Andrea joined after turning 10 years old. The band led her to her debut singing career and her early musical composition. She performed as performer in her college in several performances organized by The Madras Players or EVAM. Then she was an EVAM Student Senate President at Women's Christian College. Andrea started the acting profession as a child actor as a child actor in Girish Karnad Nagamandala. She was a part-time actress in a leo commercial alongside actor Shiva. The actress also appeared in a TV serial that aired on Podhigai. She performed throughout India. She played a minor role in the Kanda Mudhal finale (2005). Following her performance of a song for Gautham Vasudev Menon's film Vettaiyaadu Vilaiya she was asked to appear in the role of a lead female character in his next film Pachaikili Muthucharam. This film was a film adaptation of James Siegel's novel Derailed. It featured Andrea portraying Kalyani a homemaker who's husband is involved in an affair and is targeted by a blackmailer. Andrea was cast in the film following Simran, Tabu, and Tabu had been approached. This film released in early 2010, It was released in the month of August, 2011. Venkat Prabhu released his multi-starrer Mankatha. She was asked to fill a smaller support role. In 2013 she made her debut in Malayalam cinema with Rajeev Ravi's romance movie Annayum Rasoolum.
