Sofia Pernas was born in Morocco. She came to California when she was five. She grew up primarily in Orange County. She received her graduation at the University of California, San Diego in the year 2015, which was the same year she got her first big break as an actor. Pernas played small roles in NCIS as well as Leverage. Then she landed the role as Marisa at The Young and the Restless. Following her departure from the soap-opera in 2016, the actress landed an appearance on Jane the Virgin as Catalina.
